The Concept of Meeting God
Chapter 11 turns to the nearness of the Divine, showing how Baha’u’llah reframes the Qur’anic promise of “meeting God” as a present‑tense encounter with the Manifestation in this Day. The verses were never about glimpsing the unknowable essence, but about standing in the presence of the One who speaks with God’s voice. In this light, the cosmos becomes proof of the meeting’s inevitability, and the “seal of the prophets” emerges not as an ending but as a hinge into a new dispensation. The chapter shifts the axis of religion from distant majesty to divine nearness, and from that nearness arises a renewed understanding of virtue — the alignment of inner truth with outward deed. The chapter invites the reader to recognise that the sacred encounter is not deferred. It is already underway, unfolding in the space where integrity, understanding, and love meet.
